ARK Invest Withdraws Ethereum ETF Application

ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has decided to withdraw its application for a spot Ethereum ETF. Despite this, 21Shares plans to proceed with the Ethereum ETF independently.

This move signals ARK Invest’s continued interest in exploring other avenues for providing investors exposure to Ethereum’s technology through various investment products. These include disruptive innovation equity ETFs, digital asset futures ETFs, and the ARK Venture Fund.

Notably, recent filings did not list any fees, suggesting that the anticipated fee competition is currently paused. Additionally, the U.S. SEC has mandated that all prospective spot Ethereum ETF issuers submit amended S-1 forms by the end of the week, but these products may take several weeks to start trading.

This strategic withdrawal emphasizes ARK Invest’s commitment to leveraging its expertise in active management while also highlighting the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency investment products.
