Crypto ETFs: Solana, XRP Next After Ethereum?

On July 23, Bitwise Asset Management’s CIO, Matt Hougan, praised the launch of Spot Ethereum ETFs, noting their strong market reception. The newly launched Ether ETFs, including Bitwise’s ETH ETF (ETHW), saw over $200 million in inflows on the first day.

Hougan highlighted that these ETFs traded half a billion dollars on their first day, making them among the most successful ETF launches in history, second only to Bitcoin ETFs. This marks a significant milestone for crypto investment, signaling a new era for crypto ETFs.

Notably, Grayscale’s ETHE fund faced $484 million in outflows, contrasting the positive performance of the Ethereum ETFs. Experts like Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas and VanEck’s Matthew Sigel emphasized the remarkable trading volumes, with ETH ETFs collectively trading $1.1 billion on day one.

Looking ahead, Hougan expects increased institutional investment in BTC and ETH ETFs, potentially reaching 50% of inflows. Analysts predict the SEC might approve ETFs for Solana (SOL) and XRP by 2025, contingent on regulatory processes and classifications.

The approval of Ethereum ETFs could pave the way for other altcoin ETFs, shaping the future landscape of crypto investments.
