Ripple Vs SEC: Lawyers Predict Judge Torres’ Ruling

The long-running Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit is nearing its conclusion, with XRP holders and the crypto community eagerly awaiting Judge Analisa Torres’ final judgment. Legal experts, including pro-XRP lawyer Bill Morgan, believe that a settlement is unlikely since Ripple has secured several key victories, notably the ruling that programmatic sales of XRP are not securities.

Fred Rispoli, another lawyer, estimates a 5% chance of Judge Torres issuing a ruling today, noting her pattern of filing orders in the late morning or early afternoon EST. Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse and CLO Stuart Alderoty marked the anniversary of the summary judgment, which declared XRP a non-security, as a significant win for Ripple and the crypto industry facing SEC’s stringent regulations.

In a noteworthy development, XRP’s price surged over 17% in a week, reclaiming the $0.50 level. This rally reflects investor optimism ahead of the pending judgment. Total XRP futures open interest also rose by 19% to 1.18 billion in the last 24 hours.

The Ripple vs. SEC case has broader implications for the crypto industry, highlighting the SEC’s aggressive stance and Ripple’s resilience. The outcome could set a precedent for how cryptocurrencies are regulated in the U.S., potentially shaping the industry’s future.
