Cryptocurrency Surge: Ethereum, Solana Hit Key Levels

Bitcoin has surged above $66,000, its highest since mid-June, gaining 4.7% in the last 24 hours. Ethereum (ETH) has climbed above $3,500 and Solana (SOL) is trading above $170, with respective gains of 3% and 8%.

Bitcoin’s rise follows a global IT outage caused by a CrowdStrike software update, highlighting Bitcoin’s resilience. This event spurred a significant increase in spot ETF volume.

Short positions suffered, with over $6 million BTC shorts liquidated in the past hour and $12 million in the past four hours, compared to $1.6 million in longs.

Other altcoins also saw gains, with BNB up 4.9%, Dogecoin 4.5%, and Cardano 3%. This surge underscores Bitcoin’s potential as a strategic national reserve and its growing influence in financial stability.
