Ark Invest Exits Ether ETF, 21Shares Fund Rebrands

ARK Invest has decided not to proceed with an Ether ETF, as confirmed by a representative. The firm cited the need to reassess its investment strategy. This decision comes despite the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approving 19b-4 forms for eight Ethereum ETFs last week.

Coinbase Custody Trust Company securely holds the underlying Ether assets, while ARK Investment Management was responsible for marketing the shares to investors. The amended Form S-1 shows no changes to the fees. ARK Invest still acknowledges Ethereum’s potential and long-term value.

Issuers need their S-1 statements to become effective before trading can commence. This move highlights the evolving strategies within the cryptocurrency investment landscape. The decision underscores the importance of strategic reassessment in the fast-paced world of crypto investments.
