Polygon has launched a new Community Grants Program, allocating 1 billion POL tokens to developers over the next ten years. Season 01 is now open, with 35 million MATIC (about $23 million) set for distribution to projects building on the Polygon network.
The distribution of funds will be managed by the neutral Community Treasury Board. Polygon’s open funding model will involve professional Grant Allocators for Season 01. Eligible projects must build on Polygon or be willing to migrate and focus on long-term development.
The program offers two tracks: the “General Grant Track” for developer tooling and infrastructure, and the “Consumer Crypto Track” for consumer-focused projects like gaming and AI/blockchain integration. Polygon aims to support developers at the early stages of their projects, fostering innovation.
Applications for Season 01 opened on June 11 and will close on August 31, 2024. This initiative is strategically important for expanding and enhancing the Polygon ecosystem.
