Hoskinson reveals Cardano code, $63M TVL gap

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said he is working with Input Output Global engineer Lucas Rosa on a new programming language for intent-based transactions and proof-carrying data using Groth16 proofs. The language is still a proposal: its architecture, performance and technical specifications have not been published.

The project comes as Cardano prepares the Leios upgrade, whose roadmap targets a 10- to 65-fold increase in transaction throughput through phased implementation. Greater capacity would not by itself establish demand. According to DefiLlama, Cardano’s decentralized exchanges processed about $927,000 in the 24 hours preceding Oct. 19, while its decentralized finance applications held about $63 million in assets.
