The Web3 Foundation has awarded Dot Play a Decentralized Futures Grant to boost Polkadot’s gaming sector. Announced on July 3, Dot Play will develop a platform for game developers using Polkadot’s advanced technology.
This initiative will target high-growth gaming genres by creating essential integration tools and offering sustainable business support. Dot Play aims to onboard new developers through a gaming portal and support initiatives like the Indy 500 Polkadot Car sponsorship.
Dot Play will provide technical integration by evaluating Game Design Documents (GDD) to ensure seamless blockchain solutions with Polkadot’s technology. The grant will also facilitate ecosystem tooling and partnerships, including SDKs for Unity and Unreal.
The Web3 Foundation believes this grant will foster a sustainable and thriving gaming ecosystem on Polkadot. The Dot Play team includes experts like Angela Dalton, Eliza Jäppinen, Nick Douzinas, and Keshav Holani.
Long-term, Dot Play plans to seek additional funding and partnerships to support more gaming projects. This strategic initiative aims to keep pace with the latest gaming and blockchain trends.
