Polygon Launches 1 Billion POL Developer Incentives

Polygon, the Ethereum layer-2 blockchain, has announced a Community Treasury initiative funded with 1 billion POL tokens to drive developer engagement over the next decade. Starting on June 11, developers can apply for grants ranging from 5,000 to over 50,000 MATIC until August 31.

This initiative marks a significant milestone as it sources tokens from 1% of the network’s annual emissions, transitioning from MATIC to POL. A standout feature is the Community Grant Program (CGP), which offers an initial 35 million MATIC, valued at around $22 million, to support early-stage builders.

With future seasons providing up to 100 million POL tokens, Polygon aims to foster innovation by offering essential funding during project development. The program includes a General Grants Track and a Consumer Crypto Track, targeting protocol infrastructure and consumer adoption projects, respectively.

By incentivizing developers, Polygon positions itself as a key player in blockchain innovation, driving long-term growth and engagement within the crypto community.
