Ripple XRP Excluded from Hong Kong List

Ripple’s XRP Excluded from Hong Kong’s Approved Crypto List

  • On January 27, Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) granted licenses to two exchanges: PantherTrade and YAX.
  • The SFC approved only four cryptocurrencies for trading: Bitcoin, Ether, Avalanche, and Chainlink.
  • XRP is not included in the list of approved cryptocurrencies for trading in Hong Kong.
  • Licensed exchanges must comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.
  • A total of 10 crypto exchanges are registered to operate under these regulations in Hong Kong.

The absence of XRP from the approved list by the SFC raises questions about its regulatory status in Hong Kong. Despite global adoption, it remains unapproved for trading alongside Bitcoin, Ether, Avalanche, and Chainlink.
