Justin Sun, founder of Tron, announced plans for gas-free P2P stablecoin transfers on July 6. This feature will allow stablecoin transfers without gas fees, with costs covered by the stablecoins themselves.
The implementation will first occur on the Tron blockchain, followed by Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks, aiming for a Q4 2024 launch. Sun believes this could significantly boost stablecoin adoption among large companies.
Tron already leads in P2P stablecoin transfers, with metrics showing consistent growth. This innovation could position Tron as a strong competitor to PayPal and Circle’s gasless stablecoin transfer services.
