Dogecoin Whale Offloads 120M Coins To Robinhood, DOGE Price At Risk?

On May 18, a Dogecoin whale transferred 120 million DOGE, valued at $18.55 million, to the Robinhood exchange, sparking concerns about Dogecoin’s price stability. This move comes amidst a rising price trend for Dogecoin, suggesting a possible profit-taking strategy by the whale. Despite the large offload, Dogecoin’s price saw an increase of 3.65% in the past 24 hours, trading at $0.1561, showing resilience in the face of potential selling pressure.

This event is notable not only for the sheer volume of DOGE moved but also because it signals a significant gain for the whale, having accumulated 226 million DOGE from Robinhood the previous month. The price of Dogecoin at that time was near the $0.13 mark, indicating a profitable transaction for the whale with the price at $0.15 during the transfer.

The situation underscores the unpredictable nature of meme-based cryptocurrencies and their potential for quick gains. It highlights the strategic moves by large holders and their impact on market dynamics, underscoring the importance of vigilance in the crypto investment space.
