$242M Laundered via Tron After Binance Hack

North Korea-linked hackers laundered about $242 million over two days after the Oct. 29, 2026, Binance hack, according to onchain analyst SomaXBT. He reported that attackers withdrew about $628 million on Tron, but Tether froze 378.7 million USDT, leaving roughly $249 million accessible.

Of the $242 million tracked, about $194 million moved out of Tron through bridges and swap services. SomaXBT said he could not determine the final destination of $41.7 million sent through Bitget Wallet. The FBI attributed the hack to a North Korea-linked group and urged THORChain node operators and other crypto services to block transactions tied to the stolen funds; THORChain’s technical co-founder did not say whether operators would do so.
