Ripple, Meritz Focus on Korean Tokenisation Custody

Meritz Securities and Ripple agreed on October 14 to explore custody and tokenisation technology for regulated capital-markets activity in South Korea. The companies say they will examine Ripple Custody and related infrastructure within Meritz’s existing permissions, with any wider cooperation depending on how Korean rules develop.

Meritz is also considering spot ETFs, fractional investments, security tokens and won-linked stablecoins, but those services have not all launched under the agreement. The announcement describes this as Ripple’s first agreement with a Korean securities firm; it does not establish that Meritz has adopted the technology beyond exploratory work.
