CME Group Expands Crypto Derivatives with Avalanche and Sui Futures
- CME Group is set to launch Avalanche (AVAX) and Sui (SUI) futures contracts next month, pending regulatory review.
- The firm will introduce both micro-sized and larger-sized contracts for these altcoins.
- This expansion follows the addition of Cardano (ADA), Stellar (XLM), and Chainlink (LINK) to their derivatives portfolio earlier this year.
- CME’s average daily volume in March was up by 19% year-over-year, with nearly $8 billion traded daily.
- The firm plans to shift to a full-time trading schedule for options and futures on May 29.
CME Group is expanding its crypto derivatives offerings by introducing new futures contracts for Avalanche and Sui, adding flexibility and capital efficiency for traders. The move comes as the company prepares for a transition to round-the-clock trading later this month.
With regulatory approval expected, CME’s new AVAX and SUI futures are anticipated to go live on May 4, enhancing market access just before their shift to continuous trading on May 29. (Source)
