Dogecoin Labs was formed with the Dogecoin Foundation to bring several Dogecoin product teams, assets and intellectual property into an independent company. Labs plans to own and operate the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS app platform and the Such App merchant-payments tool. The Foundation will continue its stewardship, open-source support and advocacy, while Labs handles commercial product development.
Led by MyDoge and DogeOS founder Jordan Jefferson, Labs aims to build more everyday uses for DOGE; those planned products are not yet a completed ecosystem. DogeOS opened a public testnet on Sept. 30, and MyDoge has surpassed 500,000 users.
