Bitcoin Surges Over Equities in Wealth Survey

Wealthy Investors Favor Bitcoin Over Equities and Real Estate

  • Between May and June 2026, a survey of affluent investors in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland showed that Bitcoin is seen as a top long-term performer.
  • In the U.S., U.K., France, and Germany, between 33% and 40% of respondents ranked “crypto” above equities and real estate for long-term performance.
  • 65%-77% of surveyed investors expressed a desire to increase their exposure to Bitcoin, compared to only 30%-47% for Ethereum.
  • Only a small percentage (9%-19%) cited hedging as their primary reason for investing in digital assets.
  • The study found that at least one in five crypto asset holders owns no Bitcoin.

The survey highlights that wealthy investors are increasingly viewing Bitcoin as a superior long-term investment compared to traditional assets like equities and real estate. Despite its perceived role in the future financial system, most investors prioritize capital appreciation and diversification over hedging when investing in digital assets.

This trend underscores the growing confidence among affluent investors in Bitcoin’s potential for long-term growth and portfolio diversification benefits. (Source)
