Dormant Bitcoin Wallets from 2013 Reactivate, Moving Significant Amounts
- Two Bitcoin wallets from November and August of 2013 moved a total of 416.69 BTC on October 17.
- October’s dormant BTC activity reached a total of 774.17 BTC, showing a decrease compared to August and September.
- The transactions were confirmed in block number 971894, mined by MARA Pool.
- August saw a significant movement with over six times more dormant BTC (6,427.59) being transferred than in October.
In October, two long-dormant Bitcoin wallets from the year 2013 moved substantial amounts of cryptocurrency after more than a decade of inactivity. The combined transfer of these wallets contributed to the majority of this month’s dormant coin activity.
This activity marks a slowdown compared to the higher volumes seen in previous months, suggesting holders may be waiting for favorable market conditions before making further moves.(Source)
