Fidelity Digital Assets said in an analysis published Oct. 20 that dividend-paying preferred shares could draw income investors into financing bitcoin purchases. It pointed to the roughly $150 trillion global fixed-income market, but estimated the bitcoin-focused preferred-stock segment at only about $12 billion. Preferred-stock financing had supported purchases of 135,979 bitcoin by Oct. 5; Fidelity cautioned that returns depend on both bitcoin and the issuing companies, and that the shares carry risks beyond money market funds.
Strive closed a $630 million preferred-stock offering on Oct. 20, 2026. The shares have a 15% annual dividend rate, but the proceeds can also fund assets, working capital and share repurchases rather than bitcoin alone. Dividend payments are subject to board declarations and legally available funds.
