Heatbit’s New Water Heater Mines Bitcoin

Heatbit opened preorders around Oct. 22, 2026, for Bitwater, an $899 retrofit that mines bitcoin while heating water in compatible electric tanks. Deliveries are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027; the product has no independently verified customer reviews or long-term performance data.

Heatbit advertises up to 34 TH/s of mining capacity from 20 ASIC chips, using up to 600 watts. Estimated mining revenue of $365 to $455 a year depends on bitcoin prices, mining difficulty, operating hours and water use; the suggested two- to 2.5-year payback excludes installation costs. Bitwater fits certain 30- to 80-gallon electric storage tanks, not gas, tankless or heat-pump systems. Its lower power than a typical 4,500-watt heating element means slower hot-water recovery during heavy use, though the tank’s upper element remains in place.
