Liquid Network confirmed on Nov. 2 that it had fully replenished its bitcoin reserves, restoring 1:1 backing for LBTC after a hack left a shortfall of nearly 600 BTC. It did not say who supplied the funds or when it would publish a post-mortem. Swap providers had already restored BTC–LBTC swaps at a 1:1 rate several weeks earlier.
On Sept. 6, an attacker exploited a bug in Liquid’s Elements software and took almost 4,000 BTC. The attacker returned 3,400 BTC the next day but kept almost 600 BTC. Liquid said it was working on governance changes and additional technical and operational safeguards, with more details to follow.
