Mt Gox rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi announced on Oct. 16, 2026, that a Japanese court had approved moving the repayment deadline from Oct. 31, 2026, to Oct. 31, 2027. The fourth consecutive annual extension covers Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment and Intermediate Repayment.
The trustee said repayments were largely complete for creditors who met the required procedures without complications, apart from certain repayment categories. Others remain unpaid because of incomplete paperwork or processing difficulties; the notice gave no individual payment schedule. Estimates put the remaining estate balance at 34,000 to 34,500 BTC, but the notice did not confirm a balance or provide an updated creditor count.
