Bitcoin and Ether Trading Launches for UAE Clients

Standard Chartered launches crypto trading for wealthy clients in UAE

  • Standard Chartered introduced a cryptocurrency trading service for affluent clients in the UAE.
  • Eligible investors can trade bitcoin at $83,478.64 and ether at $2,518.99 through their bank accounts.
  • The service is available to professional investors and is the first of its kind by an international bank in the UAE.
  • Custody and settlement will be managed within a closed-loop model, eliminating the need for separate wallets or third-party platforms.
  • The initiative operates through Zodia Markets, part of Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures unit, and has received approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA).

This new offering integrates Standard Chartered’s banking services and marks its first direct cryptocurrency trading service for wealthy clients globally. The expansion follows previous institutional trading offerings initiated last year in the UK.

With this launch, Standard Chartered facilitates direct access to bitcoin and ether for affluent clients in the UAE, reflecting a significant step in integrating digital assets into traditional banking services.
