Bitcoin Transfers $81.1 Million to Galaxy Digital

MARA Holdings transfers $81.1 million in Bitcoin to Galaxy Digital

  • MARA Holdings transferred approximately 996 BTC valued at $81.13 million to Galaxy Digital.
  • The transfer does not confirm a sale by Galaxy Digital, which is identified as the receiving address.
  • MARA has shifted its focus from solely bitcoin mining to include artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
  • In March, MARA sold 15,133 BTC for about $1.1 billion to strengthen its balance sheet.
  • As of August, MARA’s bitcoin holdings decreased from 53,822 BTC to 35,577 BTC.
  • MARA shares increased by 2% in pre-market trading following the recent rise of bitcoin above $82,000.

The transfer of nearly 996 BTC reflects MARA’s ongoing strategy to sell portions of its bitcoin treasury while diversifying into AI and computing sectors.

Following the transfer, MARA’s holdings have significantly decreased since February when it held over 53,000 BTC. The company’s stock rose as bitcoin prices recovered recently.
