Biden Joining Bitcoin Strategy Discussion Soon

U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna will host a round table conference in Washington D.C. next month with representatives from the Biden Administration, Congress, and the industry. The goal is to develop strategies to keep Bitcoin and blockchain technologies innovative and dominant in the U.S.

This roundtable follows actions by former President Donald Trump, who has supported the Bitcoin market by accepting Bitcoin Lightning payments for campaign contributions. Trump has pledged to reverse what he calls “Joe Biden’s war on crypto.”

The Biden Administration’s past hostility towards cryptocurrencies, including vetoing a bill that would allow financial institutions to provide crypto custody services, shows signs of shifting. Discussions are now being held about accepting crypto donations through Coinbase Commerce, similar to Trump’s campaign strategies.

Key figures like Mark Cuban criticize SEC chairman Gary Gensler’s approach to regulating cryptocurrencies, suggesting it could harm Biden’s chances in the next election among younger voters. This roundtable could signify a tactical shift in the Democratic stance on blockchain and cryptocurrency.

This event is strategically important as it may shape future policies and ensure the U.S. remains at the forefront of blockchain innovation.
