Metaplanet Raises $531 Million to Expand Bitcoin Holdings

  • Metaplanet raised nearly $255 million from global institutional investors through a new share placement at a 2% premium.
  • The company secured an additional $276 million via fixed-strike warrants at a 10% premium, totaling around $531 million in capital.
  • Metaplanet plans to purchase up to 210,000 BTC, aiming for a total of approximately 100,000 BTC holdings this year.
  • Currently, Metaplanet holds about 35,102 BTC valued at $2.57 billion and has an unrealized loss of $1.21 billion.

Metaplanet’s board approved a new capital allocation policy aimed at maximizing long-term corporate value and optimizing shareholder returns through strategic use of perpetual preferred shares and mNAV clauses.
