Bitcoin Dominates: Michael Saylor on Stock Comparison

Michael Saylor recently highlighted Bitcoin’s independence from the S&P 500, marking a significant shift in the crypto market. As the U.S. approaches a crypto-focused election, Bitcoin’s price surge has made it decouple from traditional stocks.

Historically, Bitcoin moved in sync with major U.S. indices, but recent market developments have changed this trend. Turbulence in financial markets, due to U.S. policy on chip exports to China and Donald Trump’s comments on Taiwan, did not affect Bitcoin. Instead, it gained strong inflows from ETFs and potential recognition as U.S. strategic reserves.

Since MicroStrategy adopted its BTC strategy in August 2020, Bitcoin has seen a 55% gain, vastly outperforming the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, which returned 13% each. This shift positions Bitcoin as a potential new safe-haven asset, important for future crypto investments.
