Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US have recorded over $17 billion in Year-to-date (YTD) net flows as of July 19. This marks a significant milestone for a product that only hit the market six months ago.
Eric Balchunas, a Senior Bloomberg ETF Analyst, highlighted this achievement as the first time spot Bitcoin ETFs have reached such a level. The net flows are independent of price appreciation, indicating genuine demand and adoption.
BlackRock’s IBIT leads with nearly $1.2 billion in trading volumes. Fidelity’s FBTC follows closely, with over $410 million. Recently, FBTC saw $141 million in inflows, showing potential to overtake IBIT.
Institutional investors are driving this growth. 79% have increased their Bitcoin ETF holdings, and total BTC holdings of US Bitcoin ETFs are expected to reach 1 million by month-end.
The rise of Bitcoin ETFs underscores the growing institutional adoption and market maturity, hinting at a promising future for cryptocurrency investments.
