Bitcoin ETFs Boost Jersey City Pension Funds

Jersey City, led by Mayor Steven Fulop, will invest part of its pension fund in Bitcoin ETFs, following Wisconsin’s similar move. This decision, expected to finalize paperwork with the SEC by summer’s end, signals Jersey City’s readiness to embrace cryptocurrency.

Mayor Fulop, an advocate for blockchain technology, views it as revolutionary, comparable to the internet. This trend mirrors the increasing interest in Bitcoin among institutional investors in the U.S.

In May, Wisconsin’s pension fund invested $160 million in Bitcoin ETFs, highlighting a growing acceptance. With U.S. pension funds managing over $27 trillion, including Bitcoin could diversify investments and boost returns.

Amid these developments, Bitcoin’s price fluctuated recently, reflecting strong investor interest. Fulop’s strategic move underscores the potential long-term benefits of integrating digital assets into traditional investment portfolios.
