Moscow Stock Exchange to Launch Perpetual Futures for Major Cryptocurrencies
- The Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX) will launch perpetual futures for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and TRON on September 22.
- Contracts will be quoted in US dollars, settled in Russian rubles, and limited to qualified investors.
- MOEX has previously recorded over 72,000 traders with total transaction volumes exceeding 600 billion rubles for its cash-settled crypto derivatives.
- Despite a recent increase in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve, Bitcoin’s price rose over 1% to approximately $76,600.
- Ethereum surged more than 2% to $2,450 while Solana rebounded above $100 with a gain of over 3%.
The introduction of perpetual futures is seen as a significant step in developing the Russian derivatives market amid increasing demand for digital assets. This move follows President Vladimir Putin’s signing of a crypto law allowing regulated trading.
With the upcoming launch of perpetual futures on September 22, MOEX aims to cater to strong investor demand for digital asset derivatives, reflecting its growing role in the cryptocurrency landscape.(Source)
