MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, saw its stock (MSTR) rise by 15% to $1,611 on Monday. This increase followed Bitcoin’s surge to $65,000, registering double-digit gains in the past three trading sessions.
Over the last year, MicroStrategy’s stock has consistently outperformed Bitcoin. Recently, MSTR stock gained more than 22% in five trading sessions, while Bitcoin rose 13%. Since early 2024, MSTR has increased by 135%, whereas Bitcoin gained 44%. On a yearly basis, MSTR is up 258%.
This outperformance is due to MicroStrategy’s significant Bitcoin holdings and a recent 10:1 stock split to make shares more accessible. The company’s strategy has even outperformed tech giants like Nvidia. Other crypto stocks, such as Coinbase and Marathon Digital, have also seen strong gains amid the crypto market recovery.
