Bitcoin Surges with BlackRock’s $289M Investment

BlackRock Transfers and Bitcoin ETF Inflows Surge

  • BlackRock transferred a total of 300 BTC multiple times to IBIT-associated addresses, valued at approximately $20.1 to $20.2 million each.
  • A smaller transaction of about 108.6 BTC, worth nearly $7.3 million, was also recorded around 5:45 PM UTC.
  • Five days prior, BlackRock purchased BTC worth $64.5 million following a transfer of $173 million in BTC to Coinbase.
  • On February 25, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw a net inflow of $506.51 million, the highest in two weeks, with cumulative inflows reaching nearly $54.57 billion.
  • IBIT led the inflows with $297.37 million, while other ETFs like GBTC and FBTC recorded inflows of $102.49 million and $30.09 million, respectively.
  • Despite rising ETF inflows, Bitcoin’s price fell to around $66,900, down by 1.6%.

The recent activity indicates strong institutional interest in the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF despite concerns over potential sell-offs from other funds experiencing outflows.

Overall, BlackRock’s transactions contribute to significant market movements as evidenced by the record ETF inflows and ongoing fluctuations in Bitcoin prices around the critical threshold of $70,000.
