On June 28, VanEck named Coinbase as an additional custodian for its HODL Bitcoin ETF. This update enhances the security of VanEck’s Bitcoin holdings by leveraging Coinbase’s cold storage solutions.
Coinbase, already serving as custodian for eight Spot Bitcoin ETFs, will keep VanEck’s Bitcoin in segregated cold storage addresses. This separation from other customers’ assets ensures verifiable security via the Bitcoin blockchain.
Coinbase is forbidden from utilizing VanEck’s Bitcoin for any purpose without explicit permission. VanEck has reviewed Coinbase’s security measures, though some risks remain beyond VanEck’s control.
Additionally, VanEck has filed for a Solana ETF, aiming to launch the first such ETF in the U.S. This move underscores VanEck’s commitment to expanding its digital asset offerings.
These strategic developments highlight VanEck’s dedication to enhancing investor security and expanding its footprint in the digital asset market.
