Ethereum ETF Launches, Bitcoin Faces New Threat

Peter Schiff, a well-known Bitcoin critic, has warned that Bitcoin faces a new threat as Spot Ethereum ETFs begin trading in the U.S. Schiff believes this launch could significantly shift market dynamics.

The introduction of multiple Ethereum ETFs is seen as a critical event, with the potential to draw substantial investor attention. Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas highlighted the rapid uptake, noting a $461 million trading volume within the first 90 minutes.

Experts like Anthony Pompliano suggest that while Ether ETFs will boost ETH prices, the impact might be more subdued compared to U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs. Investors may diversify their portfolios with a 70/30 split between BTC and ETH.

Despite this, Bitcoin remains appealing due to recent strong outflows and rumors of it becoming a strategic reserve asset in the U.S. Schiff’s warning signals a pivotal moment for the cryptocurrency market, as Ethereum’s growing appeal could challenge Bitcoin’s dominance.

As of writing, BTC traded just above $66K, down 2%, while Ethereum dipped 1.4% to $3,412. The market is taking a cautious stance, reflecting significant potential shifts in the crypto landscape.
