German Government Bitcoin Sell-Off Nears Completion

In July, the German government sold 82% of its Bitcoin reserves, liquidating nearly 41,000 BTC. Despite this massive sell-off, Bitcoin’s price remained stable around $57,000, aided by strong inflows in ETFs.

This significant Bitcoin movement by Germany has not been explained officially. Interestingly, the government sold large quantities of Bitcoin and then partially bought some back, which remains unexplained. The market has been more focused on broader economic indicators like the US CPI data for June, which came in lower than expected.

Bitcoin’s price experienced a minor dip to $53,500 earlier in the week but recovered to $58,000. This stability suggests strong market fundamentals despite heavy governmental selling. On-chain data indicates a “buy the rumor, sell the news” trend following the CPI report.

Germany’s Bitcoin sell-off highlights the cryptocurrency’s resilience and the broader market’s focus on macroeconomic indicators, suggesting a robust environment for future Bitcoin stability and growth.
