The German government has transferred 400 BTC to major exchanges, including Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Kraken. This brings the total Bitcoin sold by Germany in recent weeks to over 2,500 BTC.
Despite these sales, Germany’s Bitcoin holdings are still valued at $2.8 billion, with $961 million in unrealized profit. These transactions are happening amid market tensions, yet Bitcoin’s price has surged above $62,000.
The recent transfer included 400 BTC valued at approximately $25.28 million, following previous batches of 1,700 BTC and 595 BTC. Analysts have noted these sell-offs might be contributing to market volatility, though the exact impact remains uncertain.
Bitcoin’s price remains resilient, currently trading at $62,868.28 with a 24-hour trading volume of $23.8 billion. Its market capitalization stands at $1.2 trillion, maintaining its dominance in the cryptocurrency market.
The strategic sell-offs highlight the German government’s approach to managing its digital assets, reflecting broader market implications and the evolving stance of governmental bodies towards cryptocurrencies.
