Mt. Gox Moves 80.5K Bitcoins, BTC Declines

Defunct crypto exchange Mt. Gox has begun test transfers of 0.02 BTC and 0.0001 BTC from its address (12Rgp) to new addresses, signaling plans to move the remaining 80,128 BTC, worth $5.35 billion. This follows the recent distribution of nearly 50K BTC to creditors on Kraken and Bitstamp.

The test transfers suggest that Mt. Gox is ensuring the security and functionality of the new addresses before the significant move. Creditors faced withdrawal issues last week, but these have largely been resolved.

The timing is critical as Bitcoin struggles with a $70,000 resistance. The successful execution of these transfers could impact market sentiment and Bitcoin’s price stability.
