The Ethereum Foundation announced that the Glamsterdam upgrade is set to activate on the Sepolia testnet at epoch 353,024 on October 6 at around 13:53 UTC. Dates for the Hoodi testnet and Ethereum mainnet remain undecided. The upgrade includes changes to block production, validation and gas accounting intended to support higher throughput.
The source also reported that ETH perpetual futures open interest on Hyperliquid had surpassed BTC’s, at about $3.12 billion versus $2.81 billion. It linked the market move to the upgrade announcement, but did not establish that the announcement caused it.
