VanEck Spot Bitcoin ETF to Draw $1B

The introduction of VanEck’s spot Bitcoin ETF on the Australian Securities Stock Exchange (ASX) is expected to significantly boost the digital asset market in the Asia Pacific region. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas predicts that this ETF could attract around $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) in Australia.

This ETF is a first for the ASX and is anticipated to foster regional growth, mirroring inflows seen in larger markets like the United States. Similar increases in AUM are expected in Hong Kong and South Korea, potentially adding up to $3 billion across the Asia Pacific sector.

The ETF’s debut saw a robust trading volume of 1.9 million AUD, with VanEck contributing an initial $985,000. This fund links directly to the $647 million VanEck Bitcoin Trust in the U.S., integrating the Australian market with established cryptocurrency funds.

Despite some Bitcoin ETFs experiencing outflows, BlackRock’s IBIT ETF recently saw an inflow of $1.48 million, boosting its total to $14.67 billion. This highlights the varied investor confidence and strategies within the cryptocurrency market.

The launch of VanEck’s spot Bitcoin ETF on the ASX marks a significant step in expanding digital asset accessibility and fostering long-term growth in the region.
