Bitcoin Whales Surge Amid Massive Accumulation

Bitcoin whales are on an accumulation spree as BTC trades below $60,000, aiming for future price gains. Analysts from CryptoQuant revealed that whales and long-term holders increased their Bitcoin balances by 6.3% monthly, despite the market downturn.

Bitcoin (BTC) is currently 21% below its peak price of $73,373, observed in March. The ongoing accumulation is the fastest since April 2023, when Bitcoin traded around $30,000. This recent surge in whale activity is bolstering BTC’s price amid recent sell pressures.

New BTC supply entered the market after federal authorities in Germany and the U.S. offloaded thousands of tokens to exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken. Additionally, the defunct exchange Mt. Gox’s customer repayments caused further price dips.

On-chain indicators suggest that Bitcoin whales are unlikely to liquidate assets below $60,000, possibly signaling an early bottom. Future price rallies depend on improved liquidity tied to stablecoin minting, especially Tether’s USDT, which has seen a recent decrease in market cap.

This accumulation trend highlights the strategic importance of Bitcoin’s long-term potential, suggesting confidence among large holders despite short-term market fluctuations.
