Northern Data Plans 2025 IPO for Bitcoin Mining

Germany’s Bitcoin mining company, Northern Data, is reportedly preparing for a U.S. initial public offering (IPO) in 2025. The European crypto mining giant plans to list its combined AI cloud computing and data center businesses, potentially valuing the entity between $10 billion and $16 billion.

Northern Data is currently in discussions with potential advisers and may mandate lead banks in the coming months. Previously, the company considered separate IPOs for its cloud unit and Bitcoin mining operations.

In September 2023, Tether announced a collaboration with Northern Data focusing on AI, peer-to-peer communications, and data storage solutions. This partnership underscores Northern Data’s strategic shift towards integrating AI with its mining operations.

The potential IPO could significantly increase Northern Data’s market influence, positioning it as a major player in the tech and crypto sectors. This move highlights the strategic importance of combining AI and data centers to drive future growth.
