Trump Unveils US Bitcoin Reserve Plan

At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, announced a plan for a national Bitcoin reserve if elected. He pledged to keep 100% of all Bitcoin the U.S. government holds and acquire in the future.

Trump emphasized the importance of positioning the U.S. as the global leader in crypto, stating, “If we don’t embrace crypto and Bitcoin technology, China will.” He vowed to fire SEC Chair Gary Gensler on day one, citing his anti-crypto regulatory approach.

Historically, Trump criticized Bitcoin, calling it “a scam” in 2021, but has since reversed his stance, actively seeking support from the crypto sector. His campaign has raised over $4 million in crypto donations.
