Bitcoin ETFs Accumulate Amid Market Uncertainty

Bitcoin ETFs Experience Continued Net Outflows Amid Market Pressure

  • Net assets in US spot Bitcoin ETFs have decreased from $170 billion in October to $84.3 billion.
  • Cumulative net inflows fell to approximately $54 billion, down from an all-time high of $63 billion.
  • Between February 12 and February 19, net outflows totaled over 11,000 BTC, with the largest single-day reduction on February 12 at about $416 million.
  • Since November, Bitcoin ETFs have shed around 87,000 BTC, including roughly 15,000 BTC in February alone.
  • BlackRock’s IBIT holdings decreased by 6%, while Fidelity’s FBTC saw a decline of 12.6%.

The ongoing decline in Bitcoin ETF holdings reflects broader market pressures and investor sentiment as Bitcoin approaches a fifth consecutive negative monthly close in February.

With total ETF balances now near 1.26 million BTC, the significant outflows highlight the challenges facing the cryptocurrency market amid tightening financial conditions and increased opportunity costs for holding non-yielding assets like Bitcoin.
