BBVA to Launch Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading in Spain

• Spain’s second-largest bank, BBVA, plans to offer Bitcoin and Ethereum trading services.
• The bank received approval from the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
• Services will initially be available to a small group before expanding to all private customers.
• The rollout builds on BBVA’s experience in Switzerland and Turkey since 2021 and 2023, respectively.
• Customers can trade cryptocurrencies using the same app for traditional banking activities.

BBVA is set to introduce cryptocurrency trading services in Spain after obtaining regulatory approval. The phased rollout will allow customers to manage digital assets through their existing banking app.
