Bitcoin ETPs Approved for UK Retail Investors

Valour Receives FCA Approval for Bitcoin and Ether ETPs in the UK

  • Valour, a subsidiary of DeFi Technologies, has gained regulatory approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to offer crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs).
  • The approved products include the 1Valour Bitcoin Physical Staking and 1Valour Ethereum Physical Staking, which began trading on the London Stock Exchange.
  • This move follows the FCA’s decision to lift a ban on crypto ETPs for retail investors in October, allowing broader access to digital assets.
  • In December, Valour launched an ETP tied to Solana (SOL) in Brazil, expanding its global reach.
  • The London Stock Exchange lists over 2,300 ETPs, with approximately $280 million in trading volume recorded for crypto ETPs in December.

This approval enables Valour to provide UK retail investors with transparent exposure to digital assets through regulated products. The company’s chairman emphasized the significance of this development within one of the world’s major financial markets.

With over $280 million in trading volume for crypto ETPs last month, Valour’s offerings mark a significant step towards integrating digital assets into mainstream finance. (Source)
