Bitcoin rebound hinted after $1.6B Binance-hack liquidations

Bitcoin traded above $77,000 after falling as low as $76,320 amid reports of a $6.3 billion hack at Binance. Crypto liquidations reached $1.56 billion over 24 hours, including $1.31 billion in long positions, according to CoinGlass.

Binance said the attack involved more than one security breach and that it was still gathering facts. It said it would cover all user losses with its SAFU fund and other company resources. US tech-stock losses added to pressure on crypto, while a bullish divergence in Bitcoin’s four-hour relative strength index suggested seller pressure might be easing, not that a recovery was assured.
