Bitcoin Whales Offset 230K BTC Sell-Off

Bitcoin Whales Increase Holdings Amid Market Recovery

  • Large Bitcoin (BTC) holders have increased their total balance to approximately 3.09 million BTC, up from 2.86 million BTC in December.
  • Whale-related outflows averaged about 3.5% of exchange-held BTC over the last month, the highest rate since late 2024.
  • Inflows into Binance reached $8.24 billion, marking a new high for whale BTC exchange flows in the past fourteen months.
  • Retail flows totaled $11.91 billion during the same period, with a retail-to-whale ratio of approximately 1.45.
  • Gross withdrawals from exchanges averaged around $8 billion, translating to roughly between 60,000 and100,000 BTC over the past month.

The accumulation by large holders suggests a renewed confidence in Bitcoin as they rebuild reserves lost during market downturns. With significant inflows and withdrawals observed, net balances on exchanges remain stable despite fluctuations in trading activity.

As large holders continue to accumulate BTC, their total balance has increased by approximately 230,000 BTC since December.(Source)
