Healthcare tech developer Semler Scientific has announced an additional purchase of 247 BTC for $17 million in cash. This acquisition increases the firm’s total Bitcoin reserves to 828 BTC, valued at $57 million.
According to a press release on Jun. 7, CEO Doug Murphy-Chutorian emphasized Bitcoin as a “compelling investment and a reliable store of value.” The latest purchase follows a significant buy just a week earlier of 581 BTC for $40 million.
Chairman Eric Semler noted Bitcoin’s resilience and its potential as a finite asset. With this purchase, Semler Scientific now ranks 20th among public companies holding Bitcoin. The firm surpasses Argo Blockchain but trails behind Meitu.
This move underscores Semler Scientific’s strategy to hedge against inflation and its confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term value.
