Swiss crypto custodian Bitcoin Suisse has issued a tokenized bond on Obligate to raise new capital for its lending business. The bond, which utilizes Circle’s USD Coin (USDC) as the settlement currency, marks a significant step in bridging traditional finance with decentralized technology.
Bitcoin Suisse, managing over $5.5 billion in assets, used atomic settlement to secure the bond, ensuring high security and efficiency. The capital will support the company’s growth and meet increasing client demand. Head of Treasury Sandro Huwyler emphasized the bond’s role in expanding their lending efforts.
Founded in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse has consistently been a pioneer in the crypto space, previously raising over $50 million in a Series A funding round in 2020. This tokenized bond issuance underscores its commitment to innovation and investor trust.
The strategic move highlights Bitcoin Suisse’s dedication to leveraging advanced blockchain technology and robust legal frameworks, setting a new standard in the industry. This initiative reinforces the company’s pioneering role and long-term growth strategy.
