Bitcoin ETFs compensate April outflows, analyst predicts long-term returns

In May 2024, Spot Bitcoin ETFs rebounded from April’s losses with $1.3 billion in inflows, according to Bloomberg’s Senior ETF Analyst, Eric Balchunas. These gains neutralized the previous month’s outflows, marking a significant recovery and bringing the total inflow since the launch to $12.3 billion. A standout feature of this turnaround is the swift recovery in investor interest, underscored by the iShares Bitcoin Trust leading with $94 million in inflows on May 16.

The renewed demand for Bitcoin, as observed by CryptoQuant, alongside the recovery in ETF inflows, indicates a strengthening market confidence. Notably, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC) experienced a positive shift, adding $5 million in inflows, showcasing the potential for long-term returns in the spot Bitcoin ETF market. This scenario highlights the resilience of Bitcoin investments and their appeal to both regular holders and large investors, suggesting a bright future for cryptocurrency ETFs.
